Dwight-Englewood School, the largest independent school in Bergen County, NJ, and a growing, vibrant, and diverse learning community in the New York City metro area, is seeking to fill a Human Resources Coordinator position to join the HR Department. We seek an individual who can provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the HR department. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling confidential information. This is currently a 25 hour per week position with the potential to become full-time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure all onboarding documents are complete. (I-9, W4, background checks, TB test, direct deposit etc.)
Monitor the onboarding spreadsheet to ensure IT, facilities, security etc. have necessary information for new employees.
Process, review and respond to unemployment claims and workers comp claims with appropriate documentation. Review unemployment statements.
Maintain and update employee records and files.
Administer PTO program, including sick leave.
Compile a variety of reports to get maximum utilization of the HRIS system including compliance reports, ad hoc reports, EEOC reporting and Index requirements.
Enter all HR department invoices into the expense management system.
Maintaining our internal HR website.
Manage Sunshine Committee for school.
Manage the Employee Recognition Program.
Manage Annual Health Clinic with local pharmacy.
Act as an Administrative Assistant to the Director of Human Resources.
Other HR administrative duties as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College and/or University in Human Resources, Business Administration or other related fields required.
1-3 years of experience in Human Resources.
Bilingual - Spanish is a plus.
SPECIAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Strong knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations filing and compliance requirements and other laws affecting benefit programs including ACA, ERISA, FMLA, COBRA, ADA, Section 125, workers’ compensation, Medicare and Social Security and DOL requirements.
Strong knowledge of ADP HRIS system
Sound knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Applications i.e Excel, Sheets, Word, Docs, and Power Point are strongly preferred.
Experience in a school setting is preferred

Terms of Employment
This is a 12 month administrative position.
Professional days are considered work days and participation in planned activities is mandatory.
Standard working hours are 8 am to 4 pm with attendance at weekly division/department meetings required. This is currently a 25 hour work week with the potential to go to a full-time, 40 hour week. Please consider the potential need for these expanded hours when applying.
The salary range for this position is between $30 - $35/hr depending on experience.
