About the Role:

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and people-focused Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with foundational HR knowledge who’s ready to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of HR — payroll, HRIS, recruiting, onboarding, compliance, and employee support. You’ll work closely with the HR Director to keep our processes running smoothly and help take our HR department to the next level.

Work You’ll Do:

• Support semi-monthly payroll processing, including employee changes, PTO/PSL tracking, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Maintain accurate employee data in our HRIS (Paylocity); assist with reports, workflows, and system improvements.
• Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, billing, and employee questions.
• Coordinate recruitment activities — job postings, applicant screening, interview scheduling, and pre-employment steps.
• Prepare onboarding materials and help create a smooth first-day experience for new hires; assist with 90-day follow-up.
• Track compliance training, safety records, and policy acknowledgments.
• Provide general HR administrative support including reporting, document preparation, and recordkeeping.
• Assist with company events, employee recognition programs, and HR projects as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold company values in all HR activities.
• Perform other work-related duties and projects as directed.

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, accounting, or related field.
• 1–2 years of payroll and/or HR experience (multi-state payroll and California compliance preferred).
• Experience with HRIS or payroll systems.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the company.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; comfortable learning new systems.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred, but not required.
