Job Summary:

The Human Resources Coordinator supports the daily operations of the HR department in a fast-paced retail environment. This role is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, training support, employee relations, records management, and ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws. The HR Coordinator serves as a key point of contact for store-level staff and leadership regarding human resources matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate full-cycle recruitment: post job ads, screen candidates, schedule interviews, and assist with paperwork
  • Create name tags and uniform packages
  • Track uniform inventory when uniforms are removed from inventory
  • Assist with new hire onboarding, and orientation
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, and personnel files
  • Support the development and tracking of training programs and employee compliance
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits
  • Coordinate employee recognition programs and assist in planning employee engagement events
  • Ensure HR compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including wage and hour, I-9 verification, and EEO requirements
  • Maintain confidentiality of all HR-related information
  • Support HR Manager and Store Management in investigations, performance management, and disciplinary processes
  • Process employment verifications, changes in employment status, and other HR documentation
  • Assist in benefit enrollment coordination and open enrollment activities
  • Participate in HR audits, internal reports, and compliance tracking

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • 1-2 years of human resources or administrative experience, preferably in a retail or service industry setting
  • Working knowledge of HR principles, labor laws, and HRIS systems a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based in the Corporate Office
  • May occasionally visit store locations for training or recruitment
  • May require evening or weekend hours during peak hiring periods or events

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Light lifting (up to 20 lbs) may be required occasionally
  • Frequent use of computer, phone, and office equipment
