Job Summary:
Hui Huilaui is seeking a detailed HR Coordinator for Tampa, Florida. This position provides a broad range of HR support activities, including but not limited to employee consulting, orientation, onboarding, file management, and policy interpretation. Maintains digital personnel record system and collects and files sensitive employee information. In accordance with procedures, furnishes information to authorized persons and/or agencies. Provides the first tier of support for employee questions and furnishes information to authorized persons.
Work Hours:
This is a hybrid position requiring work to be performed onsite Tuesday through Thursday and remote Monday and Friday and will generally encompass a standard workweek spanning Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Assists with the day-to-day functions of the HR department for all entities within Hui Huliau.
- Responsible for all onboarding tasks. Including: I-9 processing, drug screening, background screening, collection and verification of onboarding documents, HRIS System entry, and employee file maintenance.
- Conducts New Hire Orientation.
- Coordinates input for HR Communications.
- Processes required paperwork for employee transfers, changes in job classification, salary increases, and other related employment matters.
- Maintains employee files and HR department spreadsheets.
- Interpret and administer company policies and procedures.
- Maintains and creates HR Department standard operating procedures.
- Assists as needed with the Health & Welfare plans, working with employees and vendors on enrolling employees; to include the annual benefit open enrollment.
- Tracks and maintains HR Metrics i.e., headcount, turnover, retention.
- Process Unemployment and Workers Compensation claims.
- Responds to requests for employment verifications and other employee requests for information.
- Send and receive HR related mail.
- Assists with recruitment activities as needed.
- Assists with employee communications and presenting of such materials, i.e., meetings, trainings, employee events.
- Must be flexible for other HR or administrative duties as assigned.
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong verbal/written communication abilities; effective interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized with strong follow up skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Strong Attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information with tact and discretion.
- Advanced computer skills, including data entry, data processing, communication tools and payroll and human resources software.
- Problem-solving skills and resourceful thinking.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Professional HR Certification preferred.
- Must have (2) years of administrative or Human Resources experience
- Experience with HRIS systems, preferably Paychex.
Physical Requirements:
- Predominantly Sedentary work. Work is performed in an office or home office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Requires the ability to walk short distances.
- Exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
