What You Will Do:

The Human Resources Generalist provides operational HR support to a multi-state manufacturing business unit within a larger organization. Acting as a proactive partner to management, this role drives employee engagement, ensures compliance, and promotes a collaborative and performance-driven workplace. This role focuses on high-impact HR initiatives that align with business objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Builds strong relationships with managers to offer consultative support on performance, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and policy interpretation. Promotes workplace culture based on respect, accountability, and continuous feedback.
  • Interprets and applies employment laws and company policies across multiple locations. Ensures consistency and fairness in handling HR matters regardless of geography.
  • Acts as a liaison between the Worker’s Compensation carrier, management and the employee to facilitate claims management and returning the employee to full duty.
  • Assists managers with attendance management and acts as a conduit between managers and the benefits coordinator to support seamless leave coordination and communication.
  • Manages unemployment claims to ensure timely and accurate documentation and response.
  • Participates in special projects in the areas of performance management, annual communication meetings, wellness programs and training, Employee Handbook, Work Rules, and Playbook updates.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the Drug and Alcohol testing policy, process and program for all post-employment requirements. 
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • 6 to 8 years of experience in the Human Resources function in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of Human Resources principles, concepts, employment law and best practices.
  • Ability to handle work pressures, conflicting demands and difficult employees in a positive manner.  Adaptability to pressure, unexpected or changed priorities or deadlines. Capable of making quick and responsible decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Professional Human Resources (PHR) Certification a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Experience supporting outlying locations a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Salary: $70,000-$90,000 annually
