High Bar Brands is a Minnesota-based company, recently expanding into California and the Fresno area for the first time. As we build our presence in this new location, we are seeking a skilled and experienced On-Site Human Resources Generalist to help establish and maintain compliant, people-focused HR practices. This role will be instrumental in building our HR foundation in California, ensuring legal compliance, supporting workforce development, and promoting a culture of safety, inclusion, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish, highly knowledgeable in California labor law, and confident leading core HR functions such as recruitment, employee relations, training, compliance, performance management, onboarding/offboarding, benefits administration, and assisting with safety coordination. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and is excited to help shape the HR function of a company with strong momentum and long-term potential.


Position Overview

  • Role: On-Site Human Resources Generalist
  • Location: Fresno, CA and Canfield, OH
  • Language Requirement: Fluent in Spanish
  • Working Hours: Early morning hours starting at 7am

Principle Accountabilities

  • Safety: Active engagement in site safety programs
  • Recruitment: Oversee recruitment from requisition to onboarding
  • Employee Relations: Handle employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and resolve workplace concerns
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
  • Leave of Absence: Administer FMLA and other relevant regulations

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal, team, time management, and follow-through skills
  • Strong knowledge of California Labor Laws
  • HR recruiting experience, including management-level positions
  • HR generalist experience with emphasis on training, management coaching, employee relations, conflict resolution, and organizational development
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage confidential information
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a generalist role
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Experience with HRIS applications, preferably ADP Workforce Now
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing role preferred

Working Conditions

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
  • Ability to navigate each department at the organization's facilities
  • Office setting with occasional travel for recruitment events, training sessions, or offsite meetings
  • Onsite work with occasional remote flexibility
  • Early morning hours required, with onsite presence by 7:00 AM; you may choose to begin your day as early as 5:00 AM which aligns with the start of 1st shift .
  • Required to spend time on the shop floor
