Currently, we have an immediate opening for a Human Resources Generalist to work out of our beautiful office in Hendersonville, TN! The Human Resources Generalist manages the employee lifecycle for the Credit Union, serving as the primary point of contact for personnel matters. This role provides high-touch support for benefits, payroll, employee relations, and compliance, ensuring all interactions align with the organization's culture. In addition to core HR functions, the Generalist identifies opportunities to implement process improvements and leverage automation to increase departmental efficiency.

 


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Providing guidance and education on HR-related inquiries to help employees thrive across the employee lifecycle while ensuring that communication is aligned with the practices established by the Credit Union.
  • Conducting workplace investigations and effectively managing employee relations issues in partnership with management.
  • Managing leave of absences and worker’s compensation claims. This includes educating, communicating, designating leave types based on federal and/or state laws, sending paperwork, obtaining medical reports, and performing other relevant tasks.
  • Collaborating and supporting all efforts in the deployment of HR initiatives and engagement programs that foster a positive work environment.
  • Supporting the creation, development, and implementation of policies and procedures to align with changes in federal/state law and best practices.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, laws, and rules and completing all legal federal/state forms such as nondiscrimination testing, EEO-1, and 5500.
  • Performing other HR tasks to support the day-to-day operations of the HR department, including acting as the backup for payroll processing and benefits administration while seeking to reduce manual data entry through technology.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements and automated workflows to streamline leave of absence tracking, worker’s compensation, and general administration.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certification: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR 
  • 3 years of experience with employee relations and conducting workplace investigations.
  • 3 years of experience with leave of absence administration.
  • 3 years of experience implementing HR policies and procedures based on federal/state law.
  • 1 year experience assisting with benefits administration.
  • 1 year experience using Excel, Word, Outlook including experience working with advanced formulas such as Vlookup in Excel.
