Are you an HR professional who’s passionate about supporting skilled tradespeople and building strong workplace cultures? We’re looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our growing team at Mark One Electric. In this pivotal role, you’ll support our team by managing key HR processes and ensuring compliance, engagement, and operational excellence across the board.

You’ll work alongside our HR Director and partner with field operations to make sure every employee has the support, resources, and guidance they need from day one.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee the entire employee life cycle — hiring, onboarding, development, and offboarding — in collaboration with the Director of Field Operations and the HR Director.
  • Lead new hire orientation for field staff to ensure a smooth and effective introduction to our company and safety protocols.
  • Educate employees on HR policies, union agreements, and compliance standards, especially as they relate to the construction trades.
  • Partner with the Director of Safety to maintain and promote job site safety and compliance.
  • Interpret and apply union contract language in a fair and consistent manner; ensure HR practices align with labor agreements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to address attendance issues and help drive employee engagement and retention.
  • Provide guidance to field leadership and HR staff on employee relations, training, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Assist in disciplinary actions, investigations, and terminations in alignment with company values and legal standards.
  • Keep our HRIS systems accurate and up to date, including employee data, benefit information, and compliance records.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with all applicable employment laws and reporting requirements (e.g., DOT, EEOC, ACA, OSHA).

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field — OR at least 5 years of relevant HR experience in a construction, trade, or unionized environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of HR generalist experience.
  • SHRM certification preferred.
  • A solid understanding of the construction industry, union agreements, and workforce dynamics is a major plus.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities while staying detail-oriented.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with HRIS platforms.
