HR Generalist

Good Earth's HR Generalist will report directly to Good Earth Markets' owner and CEO. The HR Generalist has a significant scope of responsibility at Good Earth: strategic talent development, compensation design, payroll, benefit plan design, compliance, activities and events, employee relations, performance management, and overall culture and employee engagement.
Key Job Duties:
- Collaborate with the Recruiting Specialist to develop effective recruitment strategies
- Execute Good Earth’s new hire onboarding process end-to-end, including systems access, I-9 verification, benefits onboarding, orientation, etc
- Create and implement in-house training courses to support the onboarding and continued development of team members
- Acts as the in-house benefits expert
- Implementation of company policies and procedures and maintenance of policy changes/updates
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related questions such as time off, payroll, HR policies, benefits, on the job injuries and escalating if needed
- Coordinate the ongoing maintenance of HRIS systems -- auditing data, updating employee information, running reports, and maintaining employee files
- Maintain and prep all payroll tasks, execute bimonthly payroll
- Complete all government documentation and lead all government inquires, including unemployment, DWS requests, garnishments, and surveys
- Development and implementation of HR strategies that support business objectives including workforce planning, professional development, company culture, coaching and discipline, etc.
- Oversight of the employee relations process and direct handling of escalated incidents
- Help to cultivate a positive work environment through programs, activities and events that reinforce Good Earth’s values
Necessary Skills and Experience:
- Strong analytics, verbal, and written communications skills
- Understanding of state and federal employment regulations and labor laws
- Continuously strives to strengthen and refine professional effectiveness in collaborating with others
- Strong problem-solving skills—willing to think outside of the box and take on new challenges
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to manage tight deadlines and manage projects
- Ability to work independently
- Bachelor’s degree (or soon to be completed bachelor’s degree) or equivalent degree/experience combination
Schedule/Compensation/Benefits:
- Full Time, 35-45 hours a week, Monday-Friday
- Can be Salary or Hourly
- Wage DOE
