Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Benefits Administrator/ HR Generalist to join our team. This role is essential in supporting the day-to-day operations of the HR department, coordinating and administering the Firm’s benefits and wellness programs across all offices, and ensuring compliance with firm policies and employment regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in a law firm or professional services environment and a strong understanding of HR best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and retirement plans.
- Manage the open enrollment process, including communication documentation, and employee education.
- Plan, organize, and promote wellness programs and initiatives to improve employee health and well-being.
- Serve as a resource for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
- Support administrative staff recruitment efforts including preparing job postings, resume screening, and interviewing qualified candidates.
- Collaborate with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in compliance with legal requirements and firm policies.
- Provide administrative support for performance management processes, including annual reviews and coaching documentation.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Participate, as directed, in employee relations matters, investigations, and conflict resolution.
- Assist with HR reporting, audits, and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services setting.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS and payroll systems preferred.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
