Job purpose

The Human Resources Generalist is involved in the management of HRIS and other systems administration, corporate compliance, policy and procedure. The HR Generalist ensures HR programs and services are in compliance with established policies and state/federal laws and regulations. HR Generalist is responsible for conducting audits of HR processes to ensure compliance. 

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain a positive relationship between employees and the company.
  • Provides support related to recruiting, interviewing, and hiring process.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Assist with transfers, status changes, promotions, separations.  
  • Performs tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to Workers Comp, compensation, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, recognition, morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Assists with I-9 completion and E-Verification, including assisting with data audits and updates. 
  • Analyze data to provide recommendations for continuous managers training.  
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, OR combination of education and experience.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred but not required.

Physical requirements & Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced office environment.
  • Occasional pressure to produce under severe time constraints and deadlines.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. 
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 

 Travel

  • You will be required to travel occasionally to Company locations and necessary hearings which include but are not limited to Northern California, Southern California and New England. Some overnight travel may be expected.
