Job Description Summary 

With a focus on providing excellent internal customer service, the HR Generalist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing activities relating to the recruitment, selection, retention, orientation and development of Heartlinks employees. Acts as an advocate for organization personnel and collaborates with the Heartlinks supervisory and leadership team to meet goals and objectives while advancing the Heartlinks mission. The HR Generalist is responsible for driving a shared understanding of Heartlinks’ strategic priorities among employees through internal communication channels, and is responsible for the creation, execution, and measurement of internal communications plans in strategic support of mission advancement.

 Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

  1. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. 
  2. Ensures consistent employee recruitment, selection, retention, hiring practices, orientation, and termination procedures are handled in accordance with applicable law and regulation. 
  3. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. 
  4. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. 
  5. Conduct exit interviews and recommend corrective action if necessary. 
  6. Develop and implement employee recognition and motivation programs. 
  7. Develop and execute the internal communications strategy for the organization, including key messaging, communication channels, and tactics. 
  8. Identify opportunities to promote employee engagement and help foster a positive company culture. 
  9. Maintain the company’s internal communication tools, ensuring they are up-to-date, user-friendly, and aligned with the company’s goals and values. 
  10. Coordinate internal events and other initiatives to promote employee engagement and strengthen the company culture. 
  11. Other duties as assigned. 

Position Qualifications 

  1.  Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 
  2. Previous Human Resources experience preferred. 
  3. Demonstrated ability to craft clear, concise communications. 
  4. Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  5. Ability to handle data with confidentiality at all times. 
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

Benefits

  • Full-time employees accrue up to 168 hours of PTO annually, in addition to accruing sick time at the rate of 1 hour for every 40 hours worked. Bereavement and jury duty leave are also available. 
  • Option to enroll in medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Heartlinks pays for 100% of the employee's medical premium for the base plan and 75% of the employee's dental and vision premiums. Health benefits begin the first of the month after the start date. 
  • Miles driven for work are reimbursed at 62.5 cents per mile.
  • Holiday pay for 6 observed holidays.
  • Ability to enroll in 401(k) and begin contributing at the time of hire. Heartlinks will match dollar for dollar up to 5% of earnings after one year of employment and 1080 hours worked.

  • Hourly wage dependent on experience; the wage range for this position is $28.00 to $35.63 per hour.
