International Registries, Inc., and its affiliates (IRI) provide administrative and technical support to the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) Maritime and Corporate Registries. The RMI Registry is one of the leading registries in the world surpassing 180 million gross tons with 4,842 vessels at the end of February 2021. IRI has a network of 28 worldwide offices located in major shipping and financial centers throughout the world that have the ability to register a vessel or yacht, including those under construction, record a mortgage or financing charter, incorporate a company, issue seafarer documentation, and service clientele. The most important asset to the RMI Registry is its customers, and IRI strives to provide them with full service from any office, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

 

The Reston office has immediate opening for a HR Generalist, with a background in Recruiting, Onboarding and Performance Management.

 

The HR Generalist will have exposure to key functional and business assignments across the organization. The HR Generalist is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function. The HR Generalist will have a unique opportunity to not only gain exposure but to get involved and contribute to all facets of the human resources platform including Compensation, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Benefits and Performance Management.

 

Duties include by are not limited to:

 

Recruitment (25%):

  • Responsible for the talent acquisition process, job posts, interviewing and attracting and obtaining top talent from both inside and outside of the organization.
  • Collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Screening candidates for company cultural fit and strength of qualifications.
  • Schedule, organize and liaise with college/university/ network career fairs.

 

Onboarding & Training Management (25%):

· Partner with hiring manager to extend offer letter to desired candidates.

· Acquires appropriate background checks and pre-employment screenings.

· Conducts new hire orientation and ensures employment onboarding for each employee aligns with company policy.

· Effectively manages training programs throughout employee life cycle, including new hire, manager training modules, and others, as assigned.

 

HR and Payroll Administration (25%):

  • Primary Employee Relations point of contact. Conducts fact finding interviews, makes recommendations regarding appropriate corrective actions for a wide range of conduct and performance issues and recommends appropriate disciplinary action where appropriate.
  • Willingness to learn our Paychex payroll system and process bi-weekly payroll.
  • Ability to perform HRIS responsibilities (data entry, reports, etc.) for both payroll and human resources, including data entry, running reports, etc.
  • Responsible for onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Create and extend salary increase letters.
  • Ensure proper documentation is filed for payroll.

 

Benefits (10%):

· Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees.

· 401(k) plan administration.

 

HR Compliance (15%):

  • Assists in the development and interpretation of the company’s HR policies and procedures and ensures the company’s HR policies and procedures and employee handbook are updated and compliant.
  • Identifies and develops internal process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Identifies and develops internal process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Compliance Requirements and Reporting, maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations; Regular unemployment reporting and responses; Workers Comp compliance; 5500/401K compliance as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
