Job Purpose & Position Overview

The human resources generalist will perform duties at a professional level.  Primary responsibilities will be supporting the human resources recruitment functions for designated departments supported within the Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System.  Responsibilities will include driving and implementing recruitment goals, completing processes and procedures in the recruitment life cycle, create a positive candidate experience, assist supervisors and managers with departmental openings, and assist in all other functional areas of the human resources department as requested.

 

Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate WCHS core mission, vision, and values; promote Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System as an employer of choice.
  • Participate in assisting with the development and execution of departmental goals, objectives and systems within the context of the human resources generalist recruitment functions.
  • Utilize established compensation guidelines to ensure equity when making offers of employment to qualified candidates.
  • Become a subject matter expert with the talent acquisition platform and processes in the current HRIS system. Oversee the recruitment and applicant tracking platform to ensure effective use of HRIS system and technology.
  • Administrator of the HRIS recruitment processes; evaluate and make recommendations for improving, simplifying and improving HRIS processes.
  • Maintain on-going professional education to ensure compliance with all human related issues and trends; keep up-to-date with talent acquisition changes and enhancements in the current HRIS system.
  • Work with communications to implement recruitment needs into available social media. 
  • Participate in job fairs, social media, and professional organizations to source candidates and build talent pipelines to identify and recruit a diverse pool of candidates. 
  • Development relationships with educational institutions and other external recruitment partners.
  • Maintain consistent recruitment processes and continue to build knowledge in recruitment best practices.
  • Partner with hiring supervisors and managers to understand their departmental needs, provide guidance on job description completion, and completing required job requisitions to start the recruitment process.
  • Assist hiring supervisors and managers with scheduling interviews and next steps in the process to ensure timely filling of departmental openings.
  • Ensure all pre-employment screenings (i.e. drug screen, background checks, health screenings references, education and employment verifications and MVRs) are conducted timely, results received in an appropriate time frame, and updates are communicated on a timely basis to the hiring supervisor or manager.
  • Assist with employee pipeline development, screening, interviewing, selection of qualified candidates and creation of job offers.
  • Provide human resources support to Directors, Supervisors, and Managers with questions related to the recruitment process. 
  • Responsible for administrative functions in the talent acquisition process to include invoicing of recruitment functions (i.e. social media or advertising invoices, candidate expenses, pre-employment expenses, etc.).  
  • Ensure required CMS document are obtained to ensure compliance with CMS audit requirements.
  • Provide support with the coordination and maintenance of employee recognition, engagement and retention programs.
  • Assist with all other functional areas, projects and assignments of human resources as directed by management.
  • Meet performance goals established by WCHS executive management team.
  • Attend required facility and departmental meetings.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and a minimum of two (2) years of human resources generalist experience, or combination of applicable education and experience is preferred.
  • Previous healthcare experience is preferred.
  • PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP or similar certification preferred.
  • Two years of demonstrated HRIS experience preferred.
  • Proficient use or Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge and practical application of all human resources disciplines.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Enthusiastic and dedicated to the challenges of helping other people.
  • Superior speaking, facilitating and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Demonstrate good decision making and problem solving skills, which are outcome and solutions focused.
  • Good attendance.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization and follow-up.
  • Function collaboratively as part of a customer service oriented human resources team.
  • Professional in communications, appearance, relationships, and responsiveness.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to perform work with little or no direct supervision.
  • Business acumen, with an understanding of the role of human resources functions to support business growth and anticipate future needs of the organization.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
  • Ability to pass drug screen, background check and other appropriate pre-screenings.
  • Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s licenses and be insurable under the insurance program at the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska.

Physical Requirements:  

  • Normal to light office work which includes the ability to lift up to 10 lbs. 
  • Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, phone, and various office equipment. 

 

Cognitive Requirements: 

  • Reading, writing, calculating. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think critically, good business acumen, and ability to make decisions which

      align with the mission, vision, and values of the facility.

  • Ability to work with minimal to no supervision. 

 

Language Requirements:  

  • Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently. 
  • Must be able to continually and effectively employ professional verbal and written communications skills. 

 

Certificates, Licenses & Registrations:

  • All applicants will comply with 45 CFR 1301, Subpart D, Section 1301.31, C and D, which require all prospective employees to sign a declaration prior to employment regarding all arrests and convictions of child abuse or violent felonies and to comply with PL 101-630 and PL 101-637 regarding criminal records check.
