POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Generalist will support the day-to-day Human Resources operations for a fast-paced luxury restaurant and hospitality environment. Responsibilities include payroll administration, recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, training support, and maintaining employee records. This role serves as a key support partner to both management and team members while helping foster a positive, service-oriented workplace culture.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of Human Resources experience within the hospitality, restaurant, or retail industry, strong working knowledge of Paycom or similar HRIS platforms, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment. Bilingual skills in Spanish and a four-year college degree are preferred. Strong communication skills, professionalism, discretion, and a welcoming demeanor are essential for success in this role.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process and assist with payroll administration, timekeeping audits, and payroll related inquiries.
  • Support recruitment efforts including posting positions, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and coordinating hiring logistics.
  • Maintain employee files and HR records in compliance with company standards and legal requirements.
  • Assist with benefits administration including enrollments, changes, and employee questions.
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and company policies.
  • Support learning and development initiatives, trainings, and employee engagement programs.
  • Prepare HR reports, audits, and employment related documentation as needed.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding employee and company information.
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Human Resources and leadership team as needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Human Resources, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources principles, employment laws, and payroll practices.
  • Experience with Paycom or similar HRIS/payroll systems preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location.
  • Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role for the hospitality industry.
  • Experience with payroll processing, recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment strongly preferred.
