Position Summary
The HR Generalist will play a pivotal role in advancing Green Water and Power’s people strategy across a multi-state landscape. This position is essential for ensuring compliance with labor and employment regulations across all active jurisdictions and for leading the full-cycle recruitment process. You will act as a strategic partner to both operational and executive leadership teams.
In this role, you will collaborate with various departments to align HR practices with business objectives, providing subject matter expertise in employee relations, compliance, hiring strategies, and workforce planning. You will be instrumental in fostering a positive work environment that supports employee engagement and organizational effectiveness while driving initiatives that contribute to the overall growth and success of the company.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing effective recruitment strategies, handling employee relations issues with sensitivity and discretion, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, and utilizing HR metrics to inform decision-making. Your strong interpersonal skills will be vital in building trust and rapport with stakeholders at all levels, ultimately supporting the company's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Manage the recruitment process from job posting to onboarding.
- Run background checks and drug tests for new hires and current employees as needed.
- Conduct new hire orientations and training sessions.
Employee Support and Relations
- Provide guidance and support to employees on HR policies and procedures.
- Handle employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
- Collaborate with management to develop strategies for employee engagement and retention.
Training and Development
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR programs and initiatives.
- Oversee the development and implementation of training programs for employee development.
- Manage and monitor safety training requirements to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- -Manage and regulate licensing renewals and expiration for field employees.
Performance Management
- Manage the annual performance review and compensation process to ensure fair evaluations and salary adjustments.
Compliance and Safety
- Serve as a liaison with outside legal counsel to address HR-related legal matters.
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Administer and maintain OSHA 300 logs for workplace injuries and illnesses.
- Handle workers' injury reporting and manage accident reporting procedures.
HR Operations
- Manage the HR coordinator to ensure smooth HR operations.
- Collaborate with the Professional Employer Organization (PEO) for payroll and benefits administration.
- Work closely with the VP on organizational changes and strategic planning.
- Analyze HR metrics and provide insights to improve HR processes.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a multi-state HR management role. Proven track record in managing the full recruitment cycle and developing hiring strategies that support business growth.
- Strong understanding of U.S. labor and employment law. A legal background is highly preferred.
- Extensive experience in employee relations, compliance, HR investigations, and workforce planning.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and foster relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in HRIS platforms, applicant tracking systems, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
