Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is a versatile HR professional responsible for providing support across multiple HR functions, including operations, compliance, employee relations, recruiting and onboarding, training, engagement, and HRIS management. This role requires strong adaptability, problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset to drive HR initiatives forward. The HR Generalist must be a go-getter who actively seeks opportunities for improvement and growth, continuously identifying ways to enhance HR processes and team capabilities. They will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure effective HR service delivery and long-term HR strategy execution. The HR Generalist may rotate or take on different tasks on our HR team.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain and optimize HR systems, including Paycom HRIS, seeking ways to improve system efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assist in payroll and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company HR policies and procedures, proactively identifying potential risks and implementing corrective actions.
  • Manage employee data, reporting, and record-keeping for audits and compliance needs, leveraging data for strategic decision-making.

HR Business Partner Support

  • Provide first-level support to employees and managers on HR policies and procedures, ensuring a positive employee experience.
  • Assist in handling employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and investigations, with a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring a seamless experience for new hires and continuously improving hiring practices.
  • Facilitate training and development programs for employees and managers, focusing on leadership development, skill-building, and career growth.
  • Actively identify gaps and propose new HR strategies and programs that align with company goals and improve workforce effectiveness.

HR Engagement & Communications

  • Develop and implement internal HR communications, including newsletters and announcements, ensuring alignment with company culture and goals.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, including recognition programs, company events, and culture-building activities.
  • Partner with leadership to enhance company culture, history, and ILA’s values, continuously looking for ways to improve employee satisfaction.
  • Track HR metrics and assist in data analysis to measure HR impact, driving data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in an HR generalist or related HR role.
  • Proactive & Improvement-Focused Mindset: Passion for identifying inefficiencies and implementing innovative HR solutions.
  • Strong Leadership & Influence: Ability to drive HR initiatives forward and hold teams accountable to high-performance standards.
  • HRIS Expertise: Strong knowledge of HRIS systems, with Paycom experience preferred.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Deep desire to deliver outstanding employee satisfaction and HR service excellence.
  • Excellent Problem-Solving & Communication Skills: Ability to assess challenges, develop solutions, and effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Confidentiality & Professionalism: Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills
•    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
•    Experience: 8+ years of human resources experience at an advanced level or equivalent experience


•    A deep desire to deliver outstanding employee customer satisfaction
•    Strong knowledge of HRIS systems, Paycom a plus
•    Strong desire to innovate and streamline processes
•    Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
