Description

General Job Summary:

The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource department including hiring and interviewing staff, benefits administration, performance management, and enforcing company policies and practices.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and coordinates new hire onboarding schedules.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Supports the HR department in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience.
  • Provides proactive direction and guidance day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development and disciplinary actions).
  • Assists in development and implementation of employee policies and procedures which includes maintaining the employee handbook.
  • Provide guidance to management and employees on company policies and procedures and performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the department/practice.
Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • An associate in Business is required; Bachelors degree in Business or Human Resources desired.
  • Minimum of two to three years of Human Resources experience.
  • PHR certificate is desired.

Travel to other locations as designated. 


Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of HR disciplines and regulations.
  • Understanding of human resources reporting and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Maintains current knowledge of Human Resources Federal and State Laws.
  • Knowledge and understanding of standard office equipment. Knowledge and proficiency of word processing, computer/pc and internet/email skills.
