SUMMARY OF POSITION

Mainstream Living provides services designed to enhance opportunities, create success and fulfill dreams.  The purpose of this position is to provide support to the HR Team in areas of recruitment, retention and other HR related tasks. All personnel are expected to promote a safe and welcoming environment that inspires hope and supports members with their individual goals and aspirations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Education:  High School Diploma or Equivalency/HiSet/GED is required. An undergraduate degree in Business with a focus on Human Resources or equivalent is desired.

Experience:  Minimum of 1 year of HR related duties.

Driving: This position requires possession of valid Driver’s License, legal driving privileges and ability in the State of Iowa and qualification with Mainstream Living’s underwriter as an insurable driver.  An exception to this may be made for non-direct service positions.

Other Certification: n/a

Computer: Computer skills including data entry, Word Processing, Google Docs, and basic spreadsheet skills required. Experience with administering HRIS/ADP and online training systems is strongly preferred.

Post hire: Must demonstrate competencies to complete internal training, 


The Human Resources Generalist requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to listen effectively, respond appropriately, and maintain mutual comfort level while relating to a diverse workforce. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is considered an essential health care worker position and in the event of an emergency may be required to work one-on-one with members to ensure their safety. 


Administrative:

  • Responsible for duties as assigned relating to recruitment, training, tracking/monitoring, personnel files and other miscellaneous Human Resource related tasks. 

  • Participate in developing HR objectives and systems, including KPIs, metrics, queries and reports.

  • Administer HR functions as assigned, including but not limited to: assigning and monitoring training completion, ensuring program specific training requirements are met, and communication progress and assessing barriers.

  • Oversight of performance management for disbursement of annual and 6 months evaluations; tracking completion and communicating progress and assessing barriers. 

  • Processes, reviews, and ensures thorough completion and accuracy of assigned personnel documentation, including but not limited to uploading new employee files and other tasks associated with new/recently hired staff.

  • Administration of Worker’s Compensation.

  • Oversight of Driving Status reports.  Run post hire MVR for violations or camera tickets, monitor probationary status, complete MVR, and tracking and communicating driver status to supervisory personnel. 

  • Backup for recruitment activities when open hours hit defined threshold.

  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning hiring, onboarding, and employment including the auditing of processes. 

  • Performs employee relations tasks as needed or assigned, primarily assisting HR Operations Administrator if needed. 

  • Performs document management as assigned.

  • Stays informed of regulatory changes; Identifies, reports and corrects issues relating to regulatory or legal compliance.

  • Participates in agency committees as assigned.

  • Effectively maintains and fully utilizes agency software and other computer programs pertaining to Human Resources.

  • Works diligently to incorporate the spirit and intent of the mission, vision and values of the organization into daily work.

  • Other duties as assigned.
