Description

The HR Generalist will be responsible for managing day-to-day human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, compliance, and HR policy implementation. This role acts as a key point of contact for employees and managers, ensuring a positive work environment and alignment with company goals and HR best practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Prepares new-employee electronic files as needed. 
  • Maintains electronic record keeping of all employees.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. 
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks, motor vehicle and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and other celebrations.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Travels to other work locations as assigned. 
Requirements

  • Proficiency with the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

  

Required Skills and Abilities: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • At least 2-5 years of  prior human resources generalist or management experience required.
  • SHRM-CP preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish a plus 


Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Travel as needed to facilities 
  • Must be able to regularly talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate standard office equipment (computer, keyboard, phone, copier, scanner).
  • Must be able to visually review documents and data on paper and electronic screens.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times (e.g., office supplies, files, or event materials).
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching as needed to retrieve files, set up meetings, or support events.

Salary Description
$70,000 - $85,000
