Summary:
 
The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting all functional areas of human resources. This role carries out responsibilities in the following areas: recruitment/employment, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, and employment law compliance.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Administer day-to-day human resources functions, including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and offboarding.
  • Provide support in executing HR strategies that align with the overall business goals.
  • Support performance management processes and assist managers with coaching and feedback strategies.
  • Partner with leadership to maintain a positive and compliant workplace culture.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding policies, payroll, and other HR programs.
  • Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition into the organization.
  • Maintain and update employee records in HRIS to ensure accuracy and compliance with recordkeeping requirements.
  • Assist in the development, communication, and enforcement of company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Support culture and employee engagement
  • Manages all aspects of IRE program including; 
    • Recruitment for each cohort
    • Coordinate CAO lunch time speakers
    • Plan and coordinate Orientation, Final presentation day and graduation
    • Coordinate lunch for in person days
    • Coordinate headshots for IRE students and COG employees
    • Lead IRE Advisory Board
    • Attend CPM conference every year (COG is a voting board member)
    • Coordinate alumni events and classes

 

Job Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a human resources generalist role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR policies, and best practices.
  • Experience working with ADP.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong listening and interpersonal skills; skilled at developing and
     maintaining effective working relationships 
  • Collaborates well with others yet is highly self-motivated and able to work
     well under stress and independently in a fast-paced environment.
