ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:

Administers group life insurance, health and accident insurance and retirement programs.  Process documents necessary for the implementation of benefit programs and maintaining necessary records.   Acts as liaison between Company and insurance companies and other agencies.  Counsels and advises employees on various benefit programs and the consequent effects of these programs.  Responsible for initiating and administering company policies that may cover employee selection, placement, wage and salary administration, orientation, safety and health, benefit administration, etc.  Processes and coordinates payroll for entire workforce.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of three years’ experience in human resources with a four-year college level degree in general studies preferred.  

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Assist in the management of employee relations functions, always maintaining a professional and confidential atmosphere.
  1. Perform details in hourly manpower planning and reporting, keeping staff and supervisors alerted of changes affecting their areas.  Prepare, maintain and process individual personnel records such as new hires, terminations, reinstatements, transfers, layoffs, discharges, department changes, classification, status changes, etc. 
  1. Administer employee benefit programs for hourly and salary employees, including premium payments, enrollment and changes, complying with and administering COBRA. 
  1. Provide up-to-date reporting and tracking of health care costs through ADP.    
  1. Assist in the development, interpretation, and administration of human resource policies and procedures. 
  1. Process hourly and salary new hires and recalled employees, completing enrollments, and explaining benefit packages and procedures to them. Conduct/process Payroll as needed.
  1. Be knowledgeable of up-to-date labor and employment laws and policies and assist Human Resource Manager in the compliance of these laws. 
  1. Work closely with the Human Resources Manager in the management of the Worker’s Compensation and Sickness and Accident programs to ensure that employees receive quality medical care in an efficient and expeditious manner with as little effect upon production as possible.  Work closely with and keep plant safety administrator informed of lost time and restricted days pertaining to occupational-related illness and accidents.
  1. Assist Human Resource Manager in complaint resolution and employee situations.
  1. Council with employees concerning policy/procedure problems and personal problems affecting their work performance. 
  1. Maintain compliance with company policies, safety rules, and good housekeeping standards, supporting the Company’s Quality policies.
  1. Keep Human Resource Manager informed of issues and problems as they arise, maintaining confidentiality of individuals involved. 
  1. Travel to off-site locations to conduct business as needed.

     14. Perform all related changes and adjustments on the HR and payroll systems in an  accurate and timely manner in preparation for bi-weekly payroll processing.

      15. Perform other duties as assigned or required.
