Description

  

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Vice President of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist will support the operations of the HR function providing administrative duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage paperwork and scheduling for new-hire onboarding.
  • Provide employees with a dedicated and effective HR advisory service, addressing matters such as attendance, health concerns, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Serve as the primary backup for payroll processing, handling biweekly updates to employee records, vacation and sick pay, expense reimbursements, hourly validations, and benefit changes.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance employee experience and increase HR department efficiency.
  • Support hiring and onboarding processes with minimal supervision, ensuring accurate data collection for Affirmative Action compliance tracking.
  • Schedule, maintain, and manage employee training records.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR programs and policies.
  • Maintenance of the employee performance review process, ensuring timely submission and tracking of reviews. 
  • Assist with benefits enrollment for new hires, employees undergoing status changes, and during open enrollment periods.
  • Organize and maintain HR-related files and documentation.
  • Manage EEOC reporting, Affirmative Action compliance tracking, and CMS reporting.
  • Maintain OSHA logs and oversee the workers' compensation process.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements

  

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Basic understanding of laws related to human resources administration
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with Paylocity desired but not required
  • Good understanding of human resources information systems and their capabilities
  • Sound judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills 
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Solid time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage several projects at one time
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent and at least 2 years of office experience is required.
  • Associate’s degree in business and/or at least 2 years of experience in multiple human resources disciplines is preferred.
