Overview:
Born Primitive is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our growing team. This role is hands-on and dynamic, supporting a wide range of HR functions with a strong focus on talent acquisition and HR operations. You’ll partner with the Director of Human Resources to recruit top talent, deliver a seamless onboarding experience, manage employee data, and contribute to initiatives that strengthen our culture and employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees by addressing concerns and promoting a positive workplace culture.
- Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employee relations issues.
- Support employee engagement programs that strengthen retention and alignment with company values.
- Maintain accurate personnel files and ensure HRIS data integrity.
- Oversee the full cycle recruiting process and talent acquisition including but not limited to:
- Screening incoming resumes and applications
- Coordinating and scheduling interviews with hiring managers and candidates
- Assisting the hiring managers with preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials
- Facilitating communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process
- Maintain and update job postings as necessary
- Conduct new hire orientation and ensure a smooth onboarding experience
- Coordinate pre-employment screening processes, including background checks and reference checks when appropriate
- Support benefits enrollment and assist employees with benefits-related inquiries.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the company HRIS system (Rippling preferred), Google Workspace, and other software applications utilized by HR.
- Generate reports and track HR metrics to support decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as OFCCP requirements when applicable.
- Contribute to HR projects such as policy updates, process improvements, and training initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2–4 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a generalist capacity with exposure to recruiting.
- Experience or familiarity with e-commerce, retail operations, and/or warehouse operations preferred.
- Experience managing full-cycle recruitment in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Experience with HRIS systems such as Rippling.
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- High level of discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
