Job Description
Our client, located in west Midtown in Atlanta, is adding an HR Generalist to support the organization’s continued growth. This non-exempt, hands-on role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day tactical execution of Human Resources operations. This position reports directly to the HR Director and supports execution of onboarding, compliance, employee support, and administrative HR processes. The HR Generalist will serve as a trusted resource to employees and leaders, helping to foster a positive, productive, workplace culture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
ONBOARDING
- Own and execute the full onboarding lifecycle from offer acceptance through first 90 days.
- Prepare, distribute, and track offer letters and new hire documentation.
- Coordinate background checks and all pre-employment requirements.
- Ensure accurate and compliant completion of Form I-9 and E-Verify, as applicable.
- Conduct new hire orientation and ensure timely completion of required training.
- Enter and maintain accurate employee data in HRIS and payroll systems.
- Coordinate onboarding logistics with hiring managers, IT, and payroll to ensure day-one readiness.
- Track onboarding metrics, ensuring 100% completion of required documentation within established timelines.
DAY-TO-DAY HR SUPPORT
- Serve as the primary point of contact for routine employee HR inquiries.
- Respond to questions related to benefits, PTO, payroll, and company policies within established service standards.
- Support benefits enrollment, qualifying life events, and related documentation.
- Maintain compliant and accurate personnel files and HRIS records.
- Process employee status changes, promotions, transfers, and separations in a timely manner.
- Prepare and submit timely, accurate responses to unemployment claims, coordinating with managers and ensuring proper documentation is maintained.
- Prepare standard HR reports and audit documentation as requested by the HR Director.
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS & COMPLIANCE SUPPORT
- Document employee relations matter and assist with investigations under the direction of the HR Director.
- Support performance improvement processes through documentation and tracking.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies.
- Identify and escalate compliance risks or process gaps to the HR Director.
- Maintain accurate and current employee records in accordance with record retention standards.
RECRUITING & HR PROGRAM SUPPORT
- Support full-cycle recruiting activities including job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, and offer preparation.
- Maintain applicant tracking data and ensure recruiting documentation is complete.
- Assist with onboarding transitions from candidate to active employee.
- Support annual performance review cycles, compensation updates, and benefits renewal processes.
- Participate in HR operational initiatives, training programs, and engagement activities as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- 2-4 years experience in a generalist or coordinator role
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain confidentiality.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
SALARY: $60,000-65,000k; PTO; comprehensive benefits package; generous PTO.
Additional Information- Full-time, on-site position. Work hours are 8-5
- May require occasional travel for training, recruiting, or company events.
