We are looking to expand our team with a dynamic Human Resources Generalist who will play a pivotal role in fostering a supportive, engaged, and high-performance work environment. In this role, you will assist with a broad range of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, policy development, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements. This position will also focus on staff development, engagement, and culture-building initiatives to ensure our teams feel supported, valued, and empowered to grow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Development, Engagement & Culture-Building:
- Focus on staff development initiatives, fostering a culture of engagement, inclusion, and professional growth.
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure employees feel valued, supported and empowered to achieve their full potential.
- Recruiting & Talent Acquisition:
- Lead the recruitment process for both hourly and salaried roles, from posting job openings to screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making offers.
- Ensure smooth onboarding processes for new hires, helping them integrate seamlessly into the firm’s culture.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Partner with department managers to understand staffing needs and assist with workforce planning.
- Benefits Administration:
- Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs, including healthcare, dental, vision, and life insurance.
- Administer the firm’s 401(k) plan, ensuring compliance, reporting, and providing employee education.
- Assist with leave management processes (short-term disability, and paid leave), providing clear communication and support to employees.
- Evaluate and recommend benefit plan improvements to meet employee needs and align with company objectives.
- Support the annual open enrollment process and maintain relationships with brokers and vendors.
- Compliance, Company Policies, and Records Management:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Keep accurate, confidential employee records and assist with audits and reporting.
- Support and execute employee investigations, terminations, and performance improvement processes, ensuring fairness and consistency.
- Maintain and update company policies and the employee handbook to reflect regulatory changes and best practices.
- Manage offboarding processes for terminated or resigned employees, ensuring a smooth transition and compliance with company policies.
- Compensation & Payroll:
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement competitive compensation structures and strategies.
- Partner with operations leaders to administer salary adjustments, bonuses, and incentive programs.
- Work closely with the office manager to process payroll and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Analyze market research and salary surveys to maintain competitive salary ranges.
- Collaboration:
- Reports to the Practice Manager
- Works closely with all department managers and owners.
- Willingness to travel to other offices if necessary.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in human resources, preferably in a professional services or similar environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Familiarity with iSolved is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification (or equivalent) preferred.
