Description

Title: HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

Department: Human Resources 

Reports To: Human Resources Department Manager

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, or equivalent work experience 

Registration: None required

Experience: 2-5 years 


Duties:

  • Prepare, process, and maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leave, transfers, and promotions using human resources management system software.
  • Organize and maintain the employee and dependents' health care insurance enrollment, changes, employee education, vendor communication, and removal.
  • Working knowledge of human resource procedures, or applicable laws, standards, or regulations to support compliance with federal and state laws, including the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Federal Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Americans with Disability Act (ADA), and the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
  • Assist the HR Department Manager in monitoring employee relations issues, including harassment allegations, work-related complaints, and other employee concerns.
  • Schedule and conduct new employee orientations and drug tests.
  • Assist HR Department Manager with internal audits, reporting, policy updates, performance review, process improvements, etc. 
  • Facilitate the onboarding process once the acceptance letter has been signed. 
  • Arrange Conference, Hotel, Travel, and Transportation for staff as needed.
  • Schedule internal continuing education and apply for Professional Development Hours (PDHs). 
  • Responsible for the Office Manager’s duties of answering the phone, handling deliveries, etc., when the Office Manager is absent. 
  • Organizing special occasion items, including flowers, and birth/wedding gifts.
  • Assists the Talent Manager as needed. 
  • Assists the HR Department Manager as needed. 
  • Other duties as assigned.      

  Expertise:

  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment and meeting service quality standards.
Requirements

Skills:

  • Ability to use a desktop computer, photocopier, desktop scanner, telephone, and conference room communication technologies.
  • Ability to use accounting software (Paylocity preferred), Document Management, Microsoft Office, Human Resources, Internet browsing, and Network conferencing software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work seated for 9 or more hours per workday
  • Able to work 40 or more hours per work week, as needed
