About the Role:

The HR Generalist is responsible for providing support to employees and managers. In addition, this role will be instrumental in the growth of our Wheeling facility with an emphasis on recruitment and onboarding. This role will be the initial point of contact for employee questions and employment needs. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist employees in their day-to-day needs i.e. questions related to policies/procedures, payroll, benefits, HR system access, among others
  • Support the pre-onboarding stage of new hires by being the point of contact from offer stage up to their first day
  • Responsible for the execution of onboarding activities
  • Lead the new hire orientation process including review of benefit offerings
  • Assist employees in benefit enrollment – partner with benefits team as needed
  • Ensure management completes weekly time approvals and assist as needed
  • Process employee changes in HR System (Paylocity)
  • Assist with Employee Relations concerns
  • Assist with the development and execution of employee activities and recognition programs
  • Assist with employee training and development programs
  • Assist with performance management/review process
  • HR Projects /audits
  • Assist with employee injuries and workers compensation claims
  • Manage site camera / door process
  • Assist with onsite timecard badge issuance
  • Manage the employee file process
  • Other duties as assigned



Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree – with a focus on Human Resources or related field
  • 3+ years of HR experience – preferably in a manufacturing/distribution environment
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment regulations, and record keeping requirements; including best practices in the field
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with other HR software strongly desired
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
