The HR Generalist will administer a wide variety of human resource duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to employee/labor relations matters, recruitment/staffing and selection, leave management, HRIS administration, and other HR competencies. This position will be a backup for processing payroll and will work with the Total Rewards Manager to assist with employee questions regarding VVF’s healthcare plans, life insurance, FSA and 401(k) plans. 

Job Duties:

  • Manages and administers the recruitment, selection, and on-boarding processes related to hiring new employees
  • Conducts investigation meetings; and manages terms and conditions in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Compiles and analyzes relevant data information for government related reports (ie Applicant Flow Logs, etc.)
  • Coordinates and conducts training as needed
  • Ensures compliance with existing federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Provides organizational support as needed
  • Performs other HR duties and responsibilities as assigned


Basic Minimum Requirements: 

  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Payroll and HRIS experience, preferably with ADP 
  • Experience with conducting investigations, recruiting with staffing and selection models, benefits administration, leave management, and managing disciplinary processes as they relate to progressive discipline and/or absentee point policy management
  • Working knowledge as demonstrated by prior work experience or education, regarding employment laws and sound HR practices
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), HRIS systems, and applicant tracking systems
  • Able to work in a manufacturing environment
  • Shift flexibility to accommodate the hours of the plant’s operation

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk distances, climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces and wear required PPE in designated areas
  • Able to sit for long periods of time utilizing a computer
