ESP Associates, Inc. (ESP) is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist (HRG) to join our team at the corporate headquarters in Fort Mill, SC.  This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organized, proactive HR professional to play a key role in shaping the employee experience at a well-established and growing engineering, surveying and planning firm.

In this role, you will be a critical team member in HR operations – supporting employees throughout their career journey, partnering with leaders to strengthen teams, and helping us continue to build a workplace where people thrive.  From onboarding and engagement to compliance and employee relations, your contributions will have a direct impact on both our people and our business success.

Responsibilities:

  •  Onboarding & Orientation
    • Coordinate all pre-boarding and first-day logistics (packets, PPE, communications).
    • Maintain and update online orientation materials; ensure completion of required modules.
    • Oversee I-9/E-Verify compliance and recertifications as required.
    • Meet with new employees during their first week to confirm system access, benefits enrollment, and training completion.
  •  Employee Engagement  & Development
    • Administer new hire surveys and 30/60/90-day check-ins; share results with stakeholders.
    • Support performance management processes, including annual reviews and check-in reminders.
    • Provide administrative support for employee engagement initiatives and wellness programs.
  • Employee Relations & Support: 
    • Partner with managers and employees to address a range of employee relations issues with a balanced approach.
    • Ensure confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Employee Offboarding
    • Coordinate departures, including internal communications, exit interviews, and follow-up on termination-related tasks.
  • Immigration & Visa Support
    • Coordinate with employees, managers, and external counsel regarding visa processes.
    • Maintain records of sponsored employees and manage related documentation and costs.
  • Fleet Vehicle Administration
    • Maintain monthly vehicle and driver insurance records; process toll invoices.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Enhance HR processes and employee experiences through innovative solutions.
    • Coach and support managers in improving employee performance, retention, and development.
    • Contribute to special HR projects and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or other related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist role
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. 
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. 
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the HRIS and other related data management systems. 
  • Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.  

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree or MBA 
  • Professional HR certification 
  • Prior experience in the Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) industry
