Position Summary:

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist & Recruiter to support their growing team. This role will be responsible for managing essential HR functions, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies, and leading recruitment efforts to attract and retain top talent. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a working knowledge of HR best practices, and experience with end-to-end recruiting.

 

Key Responsibilities:

HR Administration & Compliance

  • Assist with employee onboarding, offboarding, and maintaining personnel records
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Maintain and update employee handbook and HR policies as needed
  • Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee questions
  • Monitor and track mandatory trainings, certifications, and company policy acknowledgments

 

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs
  • Post job openings, screen resumes, and coordinate interviews
  • Manage applicant tracking and maintain candidate records
  • Conduct reference checks and facilitate offer letters and background checks
  • Promote employer branding through recruiting platforms and social media

 

Employee Relations & Support

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits
  • Help foster a positive and compliant work environment
  • Support the coordination of employee engagement initiatives and events

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of HR and recruiting experience; experience in a small business or startup environment is a plus
  • Knowledge of HR laws and compliance requirements (FMLA, ADA, EEO, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and NetSuite

 

Preferred Skills:

  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus
  • Experience with hiring for a variety of roles across different departments
  • Bilingual skills are a bonus, depending on workforce demographics
  • Understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation
  • Experience in State and Local Government procurement

 

Location & Compensation:

  • Houston TX
  • $25-30 p/hr
  • Minimal Travel

 

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,000.00 - $62,400.00 per year
