The Human Resources Generalist is a key HR professional responsible for recruiting, employee relations, benefits and leaves administration, performance management, compensation management, and overall HR support for the company. This role is essential in upholding organizational standards of excellence, fostering employee engagement, enhancing management and workforce effectiveness, and ensuring HR practices align with company objectives.


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including training facilitation

  • Ability to develop and manage complex company Human Resources policies

  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws/regulations including FMLA, ADA, and ACA

  • Experience in recruiting, employee relations, benefits administration, and leave management

  • Strong decision-making skills with a business-focused approach and sound judgment

  • Superior customer service skills when interacting with employees, leaders, and potential new hires

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities

  • Ability to manage and resolve complex employee relations issues 

  • Results-driven mindset with the ability to adapt to changing priorities

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Proficiency in HRIS systems such as ADP and Paycom

  • Proficiency in spreadsheets and word processing, with the ability to quickly learn new technology

Duties:

  • Serve as a strategic HR generalist for the company, ensuring HR functions align with business objectives at both the company and departmental levels

  • Advise and collaborate with leadership on recruiting, staffing, employee relations, HR policies, and benefits

  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees regarding employee relations concerns, conflict resolution, and disciplinary matters

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment efforts, from job posting and sourcing to interviewing, hiring, and onboarding

  • Manage employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability coverage. Support employees with benefits inquiries, claims issues, and mid-year changes

  • Administer FMLA, ADA, and other leave programs. Ensure proper documentation, communication, and tracking of leaves in accordance with legal requirements

  • Oversee and coordinate the annual open enrollment process, ensuring clear communication to employees and accurate data entry. Ensure compliance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) by managing eligibility, notices, and reporting requirements

  • Support the performance management process by assisting managers with goal setting, employee evaluations, and documentation

  • Facilitate training initiatives, onboarding programs, and leadership development efforts to promote employee growth and engagement

  • Assist in compensation analysis, salary benchmarking, and pay structure reviews to support market competitiveness and internal equity

  • Maintain compliance with employment laws, company policies, and best practices by ensuring proper recordkeeping and policy implementation

  • Generate and analyze HR data and metrics to support decision-making, including turnover reports, employee demographics, and compliance tracking

  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives, wellness programs, and company events to promote a positive work environment

  • Communicate and enforce company policies, ensuring employees and managers understand expectations

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required (Master’s degree preferred)

  • Minimum of four years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist capacity

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification preferred

  • Prior management experience desirable
