ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analytical & Audit Focus
- Perform detailed reviews and reconciliations of payroll data to identify discrepancies, trends, and variances.
- Support internal payroll audits by preparing reports, validating data accuracy, and documenting findings.
- Analyze payroll inputs and outputs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and tax regulations.
- Assist with audit responses by gathering supporting documentation and resolving audit-related issues.
- Monitor payroll exceptions and proactively escalate issues requiring correction or followâup.
Payroll Operations Support
- Provide operational support for payroll processing activities, including preâ and postâpayroll validation.
- Partner with Payroll leadership to ensure timely and accurate payroll execution across multiple states.
- Assist with offâcycle payrolls, adjustments, reversals, and corrections as needed.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation in accordance with internal controls and retention standards.
- Support yearâend payroll activities, including Wâ2 validation and reconciliation.
Process Improvement & Controls
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, reporting, and controls through analytical review.
- Assist in documenting payroll workflows, audit procedures, and control requirements.
- Support testing of payroll system updates or enhancements to ensure data integrity.
- Contribute to the development of standardized reports and dashboards for payroll metrics and trends.
Compensation, Benefits & HR Administration
- Assist with compensation analyses, job evaluations, and internal equity reviews.
- Support benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee education sessions.
- Maintain accurate HRIS records and oversee periodic data audits.
- Generate HR reports on turnover, headcount, and other key metrics.
Compliance & Policy Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, etc.).
- Support the administration of leave programs and workers’ compensation claims.
- Review, update, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook content.
- Assist with audits, documentation requests, and risk mitigation activities.

- Solid understanding of payroll processes, wage and hour requirements, and multiâstate payroll considerations.
- Proficiency with Excel, payroll systems, and reporting tools.
- Highly detailâoriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- 5-8 years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
- Experience supporting payroll audits, reconciliations, or compliance reviews.
- Prior payroll support experience in a multiâstate or midâtoâlarge organization.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and MS Office applications.
- Handsâon experience with applicant tracking systems and recruitment workflows
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field.
- Familiarity with internal controls, SOX concepts, or regulatory payroll requirements.
- HR certification (PHR, SHRMâCP) or willingness to pursue.
- Experience in a fastâpaced or multiâsite environment.
- Familiarity with change management and organizational development concepts.
The pay range is $60,000 - $75,000
This is an onsite position in the Brookfield, WI.
