We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist who is passionate about people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can balance day-to-day HR responsibilities with a strategic approach to employee engagement, compliance, and organizational culture.


Position Overview

The Human Resources Generalist will provide expertise and hands-on support in benefits administration, employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and compliance with employment laws. This role requires a proactive problem-solver with exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and confidentiality.


Key Responsibilities:


Employee Support & Engagement

  • Serve as a resource for employee and applicant inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and processes, escalating complex matters to the HR Director.
  • Provide guidance to managers and supervisors on employee relations matters, fostering a positive and professional workplace.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives that align with our culture and values. Assists the HR Director with employee event planning and employee recognition.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Manage day-to-day HR administrative tasks, maintain accurate, up-to-date records in our HRIS system (Paylocity) and ensure the confidentiality of all employee files.
  • Leverage our HRIS system to create a more robust performance management program and utilize the full functionality of the system. 
  • Conduct regular audits of HR records for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws, keeping leadership informed of updates or required changes.
  • Effectively interpret policies, processes, and procedures, ensuring consistency in application.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Partner with leadership to manage the recruitment process - from posting positions to assisting with interviews.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand specific hiring needs and key competencies required for their specific positions. 
  • Ensure a seamless candidate experience from application to onboarding, maintaining engagement and communication throughout the hiring process.
  • Tracks all recruiting and staffing information.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates for both immediate and future hiring needs, utilizing strategic talent acquisition techniques.
  • Oversee pre-employment background checks and drug screens for all candidates.
  • Facilitate smooth onboarding experiences, including coordinating new hire orientations and facilitating new employee benefit enrollments.

Benefits & Leave Administration

  • Administer employee benefit plans, including health, disability, and retirement programs.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and benefits providers to resolve issues and answer questions.
  • Reconciles benefit billing invoices, working closely with the Accounting & Payroll team to address discrepancies between enrollment and deductions, ensuring on-time payments.
  • Oversee and manage FMLA, ADA, short-term disability, long-term disability, workers’ compensation, and personal leaves of absence.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees & managers regarding leave eligibility, processes, and accommodations.
  • Partner with HR, payroll, and legal teams to facilitate return-to-work processes, reasonable accommodations, and leave tracking.

Other Duties

  • Participate in HR audits, data reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives as set forth by the HR Director.
  • Attend HR and other meetings, as well as training or professional development sessions.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as directed by the HR Director.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in HR or related field a plus.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional HR experience, including talent acquisition, benefits and leave administration, and employee relations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of leave administration processes, compliance requirements, and benefits regulations.
  • Must be able to prioritize and complete work assignments with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Experience with Paylocity HRIS is strongly preferred.
  • Healthcare industry experience a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
