Human Resources Generalist - Island-inspired boutique resort on Shelter Island

With 170 guestrooms, Kona Kai Resort is home to Vessel Restaurant + Bar, SpaTerre, a marina and a private club, all located just minutes from downtown San Diego. We are excited to welcome a new Human Resource Generalist to our island-inspired resort.

THE JOB:

As the Human Resources Generalist you work alongside with the HR Manager providing assistance and support. Together you assist our team members with anything and everything from onboarding, processing PTO requests, updating and maintaining employee files, Recruitment,  training and development, maintaining the office & the supplies and other HR generalist tasks as assigned.

Reports to : Human Resource Manager

YOU:

To be successful in this position, we're looking for someone who has not only exceptional skills in inter-departmental collaboration, and employee relations but as well as great communication skills and the ability to motivate, inspire individuals to bring their best everyday to serve our guest and team members.  We are looking for an individual to serve as the Human Resources matter expert and participate on team projects. 

• Minimum of one year experience in human resources (or related field)
• Knowledge in human resources processes
• Demonstrated knowledge of HRIS Systems and other related programs
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a timely and efficient manner and anticipate critical deadlines
• Understanding the importance of confidentiality within the HR department
• Excellent internal and external customer service skills
• Must have great organizational skills and a strong attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize with changing situations
• Ability to recognize and solve typical problems and select solutions from established options
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential information
• Good problem solving skills
• Great interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
• Not a requirement, but fluent in Spanish is highly preferred
