About the Job:

Title of the Position: Human Resources Generalist (Part-Time)

At Nivagen as the Human Resource Generalist be responsible for fostering positive employee relations within the organization, handling employee grievances, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of HR policies and procedures, excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, and the ability to always maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

Policy Development and Implementation:

  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of HR policies and procedures related to employee relations.
  • Ensure effective communication of policies and procedures to all employees and managers.
  • Monitor compliance with HR policies and regulations, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions.
  • Provide training on HR policies, procedures, and legal requirements to employees and managers.

Employee Relations:

  • Foster positive relationships with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee workplace concerns, conflicts, and grievances.
  • Offer guidance and support to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints and allegations.
  • Mediate conflicts between employees and managers, ensuring fair and equitable resolutions.

Legal Compliance:

  • Stay current on employment laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to address legal issues related to employee relations.
  • Advise management on disciplinary actions, terminations, and other employment-related matters to minimize legal risks.
  • Oversee AAP (Affirmative Action Plan) and EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) reporting and plan administration. Manage all legal documentation related to employee immigration.

  • Manage all legal documentation related to employee immigration.

Performs other duties as assigned by CEO

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience. Alternatively, 10 years of directly related experience in lieu of a degree (HS diploma/GED required).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experienced in conducting investigations and managing employee grievances.
  • Capable of maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information discreetly.
  • Possesses strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in employee relations or HR management, with comprehensive knowledge of California employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or manufacturing sectors is preferred.
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations is desired.

Requirements:

  • Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional or Professional in Human Resources certification preferred.
  • Must live or willing to move to Sacramento Metropolitan Region (Approx. 40 miles’ radius)
