Position Summary:

As an HR Generalist at United Flea Markets, you will be a vital contributor to our HR department, ensuring smooth and effective HR processes. You will collaborate with management to implement HR policies, provide support to employees, and uphold a positive workplace culture. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, HR expertise, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and excellence in all tasks.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee administrative aspects of the hiring and termination process.
  • Manage employee records, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Conduct employee orientation, training, and onboarding programs.
  • Develop and implement initiatives aimed at enhancing employee retention.
  • Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Foster an inclusive work environment, mediating and resolving conflicts as needed.
  • Support employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
  • Assist the HR Director with paperwork related to FMLA, ADA, and Worker Compensation practices.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate and facilitate training programs for employees.
  • Oversee bi-monthly payroll processing and related tasks.
  • Generate HR and payroll reports to provide valuable insights to management.
  • Support special HR projects and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 2-3 years in an HR Generalist/Admin role with demonstrated HR knowledge.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
    • Proficiency with ADP software.
    • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
    • PHR certification preferred or a plan to obtain certification.
    • Bilingual applicants encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift 15 pounds as needed.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the organization's facilities.
