Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager oversees the daily operations of Human Resources in the Merchandising Services department, including the administration of policies and programs. This role involves balancing employee advocacy with business needs, fostering positive employee relations, and ensuring compliance with state and federal employment laws.

 

Job Description

  • Lead and manage employee relations initiatives by providing guidance on policy interpretation, conflict resolution, and workplace concerns. 
  •  Conduct thorough, impartial investigations into employee complaints, policy violations, and workplace misconduct, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards
  • Provides guidance and assistance to employees and management regarding interpretation, compliance, and enforcement of Human Resource policies and procedures, state and federal laws including ADA, FMLA and Workers Compensation.
  • Responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and updating labor and employment laws applicable to the department to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Provides guidance on policy adjustments and communicates changes to leadership and staff to maintain legal and organizational standards.
  • Collaborates on the design and delivery of HR training materials, including presentations, videos, publications, and reference documents.
  • Compiles data and identifies trends regarding employee experience.
  • Encourages engagement through employee relations activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • A degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities. 
  • Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. 
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and maintain confidentiality. 
  • Proficient in software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, OneNote, and PowerPoint, and skilled in using a Windows-based computer system. 

Job Setting & Physical Demands

Employees in this position must be able to use a computer for the entire shift to perform the job successfully. The role is largely sedentary, however some administrative duties such as filing are required. Fluency in the English language and the ability to see, speak, hear, read, and write are required. The ability to travel by all means of transportation and to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business needs is required. This role offers a flexible working schedule, with time split between the corporate office and remote work from home or another workspace. Reliable internet connection is required.
