Job Description
We have been retained by our client, McDaniel Supply in Jesup, GA, to find a unique 'Player-Coach' to lead their Human Resources function. We are looking for more than just an administrator; we need a Culture Ambassador who can balance the tactical side of HR (compliance, payroll, and benefits) with the 'heart' of the role-employee advocacy, fair resolution, and team development. As the HR Manager, you will be the steward of a culture built on integrity, mutual respect, and the genuine care found only in a close-knit, family-run organization. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Culture
- Executive Partnership: Serve as a key member of the local leadership team, providing HR insights to drive business results and align people strategy with organizational goals.
- Culture & Change: Lead organizational change efforts to foster a culture of agility, while serving as the primary point of contact for employee concerns and fair conflict resolution.
- Talent Management: Drive performance management, succession planning, and career development initiatives to build a high-impact, future-ready workforce.
HR Operations & Total Rewards
- Payroll & Benefits: Manage full-cycle payroll processing in Paylocity and the administration of benefits programs, including 401k and ICHRA.
- Compensation Strategy: Conduct market analysis and lead compensation programs to ensure competitiveness and alignment with budget and business objectives.
- Systems Optimization: Serve as the subject matter expert for Paylocity, training employees on system navigation and continuously improving HR tools and workflows.
Talent Acquisition & Employee Experience
- Full-Cycle Recruiting: Lead the sourcing, interviewing, and hiring of top talent to support McDaniel Supply’s growth.
- Lifecycle Management: Design and oversee seamless onboarding and offboarding programs to ensure a high-quality employee experience from day one.
Compliance & Safety
- Regulatory Oversight: Ensure total compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (EEOC, FMLA, ADA) and maintain all necessary HR reporting.
- Safety & Training: Oversee OSHA compliance and industry-specific regulations, including the implementation of required safety and compliance training programs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience & Technical Expertise
- HR Leadership: 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally with a background in Employee Relations, Payroll/Benefits, or Talent Development.
- Systems Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Paylocity (or a similar HRIS) and a high degree of comfort navigating modern HR software.
- Compliance & Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws, specifically across GA, SC, NC, and OH.
- Specialized Regulations: Familiarity with OSHA and DOT regulations within the warehousing, logistics, or transportation industries.
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Communication & Influence: Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with a proven ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Conflict Resolution: Adept at professional negotiations and navigating complex employee relations with fairness and discretion.
- Operational Excellence: Strong organizational skills with a "detail-first" mindset and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification a bonus
Compensation & Benefits This role offers a competitive salary ranging from
$80,000 – $120,000, commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, a 401(k) plan, and a dedicated Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Additionally, they provide Paid Time Off (PTO).
