Summary of Role/Position 

The HR Manager will serve as a strategic business partner and operational HR leader for a high-volume warehouse environment. This role is responsible for driving talent strategy, workforce planning, employee relations, leadership development, and HR operational excellence across the site. The ideal candidate brings a deep background in distribution, logistics, or manufacturing, with proven experience supporting large hourly workforces and partnering with operations leaders to drive performance, culture, and engagement.  

YOU WILL: 

Strategic Leadership 

  • Partner with the Director of Operations and operations leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  • Lead workforce planning, staffing strategies, and talent forecasting to meet operational demands.
  • Drive organizational design, change management, and long-term capability building for warehouse teams.

Employee Relations & Compliance 

  • Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with hourly and salaried employees to promote a positive workplace culture.

HR Operations & Data Insights 

  • Leverage data and KPIs to drive decisions on turnover, productivity, and labor planning.
  • Utilize metrics and analytics to improve VCPU performance, partnering closely with operations leadership to identify labor efficiency opportunities and execute corrective actions.
  • Oversee HR processes, including onboarding, attendance management, leave administration, and HRIS accuracy.
  • Partner with payroll, safety, and operations teams to ensure seamless HR service delivery.

Talent Management & Development 

  • Lead recruitment strategies for exempt and non-exempt warehouse roles, including seasonal ramp-ups.
  • Drive performance management processes, leadership coaching, and succession planning for operational leaders.
  • Facilitate training programs that strengthen supervisor and manager capability, including safety, communication, and people leadership.

Culture, Engagement & Retention 

  • Champion employee engagement initiatives to improve morale, build trust, and reduce turnover.
  • Lead recognition programs, site communication strategies, and culture-building efforts.
  • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the warehouse environment.

YOU MUST HAVE: 

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years supporting warehouse, logistics, distribution, or manufacturing operations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and labor-intensive workforce dynamics.
  • Demonstrated success in influencing and partnering with senior operations leadership.
  • Experience leading HR teams and supporting multi-shift environments.

Preferred: 

  • SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR certification.
  • Experience in high-volume distribution centers (500+ employees).
  • Background with continuous improvement, lean principles, or safety-focused environments.
