RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Human Resources Manager in Concord, CA. This is a full-time direct-hire Office Based assignment with our client. This position offers a competitive package including benefits, vacation and holidays.
Overview of YOUR role as a Human Resources Manager
Our client is looking for a Human Resources Manager who understands the unique dynamics of a professional services firm. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll shape the employee experience from recruitment through development and retention. You'll be the steward of their culture — ensuring that as they grow, they stay true to who they are. The ideal candidate has worked in engineering or consulting environments and understands that their people are their product. You're someone who builds genuine relationships, navigates complexity with empathy, and brings structure without bureaucracy.
As a Human Resources Manager YOU will:
· Lead talent acquisition strategy to attract top engineering and technical talent across all offices
· Own the full employee lifecycle: onboarding, engagement, performance management, development, and offboarding
· Manage payroll, benefits administration, and compensation benchmarking to ensure competitive positioning
· Develop and execute retention strategies that reinforce the employee-ownership culture and keep the best people engaged
· Drive professional development and training programs that help engineers and consultants grow their careers
· Oversee compliance with employment laws and safety regulations across all operating states
· Administer and champion the Health and Safety program in partnership with project and office leadership
· Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on organizational development, workforce planning, and succession strategy
· Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and mutual respect
· Support the development and enforcement of HR policies aligned with the Business Management System
YOU are the ideal Human Resources Manager candidate if you have:
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
· 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a professional services, engineering, or consulting environment
· Demonstrated experience with full-cycle recruitment of technical and engineering professionals
· Strong knowledge of multi-state employment law, payroll administration, and benefits management
· Experience developing and administering workplace safety programs
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to connect across all levels of the organization
· Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable operating with autonomy in a lean organization
· Authentic, accountable, and genuinely care about people
· Humble enough to learn from anyone and tenacious enough to follow through on commitments
· "Can do" attitude with a good sense of humor
It's a BONUS if you have:
· PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification
· Experience in employee-owned organizations
· Previous experience managing HR for multi-office operations
· Background in engineering or technical recruiting
