POSITION SUMMARY 

The Manager of Human Resources operates as a strategic advisor to business unit leadership, aligning people strategy with enterprise and functional objectives. This role partners closely with senior leaders to drive organizational effectiveness, workforce capability, and leadership performance in support of business outcomes. The HR Manager influences decision-making across talent strategy, organizational design, change management, and employee experience initiatives. Acting as a thought partner and coach, this role provides expert guidance on workforce planning, employee relations, rewards, and policy application while ensuring alignment with corporate programs and governance. The position also serves as a key connector between the business and HR Centers of Excellence, ensuring enterprise solutions are effectively deployed at the business unit level.

 

CORE FUNCTIONS 

  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to business unit and site leadership, aligning human capital strategies with operational, cultural, and financial objectives.
  • Partner with leaders to assess organizational effectiveness and translate business priorities into actionable people and talent strategies.
  • Lead workforce planning efforts, leveraging data and trend analysis to inform talent decisions, succession planning, capacity modeling, and capability development.
  • Provide consulting support on organizational design, role clarity, leadership effectiveness, and change initiatives to enable sustainable business transformation.
  • Guide leaders through complex employee relations matters, performance management decisions, and policy interpretation, ensuring consistency, compliance, and risk mitigation.
  • Act as the primary interface between the business and HR Centers of Excellence (Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Benefits, Payroll, and HRIS), coordinating delivery of enterprise HR programs.
  • Ensure consistent adoption and effective utilization of corporate HR policies, programs, and systems, including manager self-service tools.
  • Influence and support culture initiatives by partnering with leaders on engagement, communication, and leadership effectiveness strategies.
  • Analyze workforce metrics, engagement data, and employee trends to provide insight-driven recommendations to leadership and support enterprise reporting.
  • Provide functional leadership and oversight to local HR resources, ensuring alignment with broader HR strategy and priorities while enabling efficient service delivery.
  • Support leave management and workforce compliance activities through oversight and partnership with shared service or corporate resources.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS 

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. 

  • 7+ years of broad HR experience is required, including 3+ years of experience in a leadership role is preferred. 

Required Licenses 

  • HRCI/SHRM certification preferred.  

 

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge  

  • Solid knowledge of employment laws and regulations governing HR programs. 

  • Broad knowledge of all HR disciplines with a demonstrated in-depth knowledge in employee relations and talent management. 

  • Demonstrated ability to build consultative, collaborative relationships with managers and co-workers at all levels. 

  • Effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. 

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and assess human capital needs and work collaboratively to develop and implement value-added solutions. 

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive culture yielding positive business results. 

  • Strong change management skills. 

 

Travel 

  • Occasional travel may be required; up to 10%.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Manager+: plans, staffs, evaluates, and directs work of employees of a work unit. This role will have direct reports.  

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • This position is subject to sedentary work; exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involved sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.  

 

Physical Activities 

  • This position is subject to the following physical activities: talking, hearing, and the use of hands, wrists, or fingers in repetitive motions. 

 

Visual Acuity  

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.

  • This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
