The Position:
We are seeking a people-focused Human Resources Manager to join our team at our home office in Spokane, WA. As the Human Resource Manager, you will be responsible for the administration of HR policies, procedures, and programs for Axis Residential employees. You will act as an advocate to existing employees throughout their tenure with the organization. In this role, you will provide guidance in employee relations, performance management, benefits, and systems support.
- Collaborate with leadership and the HR team to create positive employee engagement and maintain a people-focused company culture.
- Spearhead employee engagement and wellness programs– creation, implementation, and ongoing management of programs.
- Provide support to managers on HR initiatives and employee issues, including employee relationship management, investigations, performance management, new policy/program rollouts, and general inquiries.
- Monitor employee morale, look for opportunities and bring creative solutions to ensure team synergy and engagement.
- Supervise and mentor junior HR Team members.
- Monitor HR KPIs and provide regular reports and insights to department.
- Assist on compensation planning and benchmarking to ensure market competitiveness.
- Conduct wage surveys and salary analysis for organization.
- Develop and update company policies and programs as organizational needs require.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements related to HR and Payroll (i.e., EEO, FLSA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA).
- This position will be based in our Spokane, WA office; travel to properties across our portfolio is required.

What We Are Seeking:
A people-focused and business-minded Human Resource Manager who can support a growing team while achieving organizational goals.
- Must be a team player who takes a ‘we’ over ‘me’ approach to building and sustaining relationships with others.
- Must be determined, ambitious, and self-motivated.
- 4-5 years of experience in Human Resources, with strong experience in employee relations.
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Office, Google-Suite, HRIS systems (UKG/Ulti-Pro is a bonus).
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Ability to travel to properties across our portfolio as needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
- Valid driver’s license and insured, operable vehicle.
