Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Human Resources Manager to lead all core HR operations at our fully onsite Philadelphia facility. This role plays a critical part in managing employee relations, supporting organizational compliance, and ensuring effective HR practices in a unionized healthcare environment.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced HR professional with a strong understanding of employment law, labor relations, workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and conflict resolution in a fast-paced behavioral health setting.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and compliance
Serve as a key resource for employee relations, providing coaching, conflict resolution, and progressive discipline guidance
Collaborate with union leadership and management
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, and EEO regulations
Oversee workers' compensation claims and return-to-work procedures
Handle unemployment claims and represent the organization during hearings as needed
Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, and HR documentation
Lead performance management initiatives and staff development programs
Support organizational culture, employee engagement, and DEI efforts
Work closely with senior leadership to align HR strategies with business goals
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (required)
Master’s degree or HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) (preferred)
Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive HR management experience
Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and HR best practices
Experience with union environments and labor relations is highly preferred
Familiarity with handling workers' compensation and unemployment processes
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
Prior experience in healthcare or behavioral health is a plus
