The ideal candidate is an experienced HR professional with a solid background working in a white collar/professional services organization along with a consistent work history.  Additional experience with a strong understanding of multi-state employment laws, a proven ability to manage HR operations, and exceptional communication, problem-solving, and employee relations skills. 

This is a roll-up-your-sleeves, hands-on HR Manager position.  You will oversee day-to-day HR operations, ensuring efficient processes, compliance with employment laws, and employee satisfaction. This role leads HR administrative functions, manages the HR Coordinator, and connects HR strategy with execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Operations & Compliance: Manage daily HR activities; ensure legal compliance, accurate reporting, and audit readiness.

  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Oversee recruitment and onboarding; ensure quality hires and smooth integration; supervise the HR Coordinator’s hiring tasks.

  • Performance & Development: Support performance reviews, employee development, training, and career planning; track and report trends.

  • Employee Relations & Engagement: Address employee concerns, coach managers, support investigations, and promote engagement and culture initiatives.

  • Compensation & Benefits: Assist with salary planning, payroll, and benefits administration; monitor workforce data.

  • Documentation: Ensure employment actions and communications comply with laws and policies; coordinate with leaders on promotions, offers, and related processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (HR, business, or related field preferred)

  • 3+ years in Human Resources as part of a corporate HR Team, not as a solo performer (management level, preferred)

  • Previous experience working for a fast-growth company - either through organic growth or acquisitions
  • SHRM-CP or PHR desired
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state and federal employment laws

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

  • High integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail

  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with HRIS and talent systems
