- Knowledgeable in recruiting talented individuals for the company’s positions.
- Extensive knowledge of HR practices, procedures and administration.
- Extensive knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws and regulations.
- Advanced knowledge in key areas of management, leadership, employee relations and communication.
- Skilled in sourcing and identifying talent then recruiting them to the company.
- Skilled in the use of HR software and systems for HR management.
- Problem solving and mediation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to build relationships and develop strategies to recruit as well as work with outside recruiter to acquire talent.
- Able to create and maintain a collaborative team environment; to build relationships and effectively work with all levels of employees in a confidential manner.
- Able to coach managers and employees through employee related issues.
- Able to set priorities and work autonomously to accomplish goals and plans.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Recruiting:
- Recruitment and Hiring: Manage the recruitment and hiring process, from identifying suitable candidates to conducting interviews and assisting with hiring decisions.
- Staffing Needs: Work with management to forecast current and future staffing needs, including preparing personnel forecasts and projecting employment requirements.
Employee Relations:
- HR Guidance and Support: Provide guidance, direction, and support on HR-related issues to employees and managers.
- Issue Resolution: Assist in the internal resolution of personnel issues, advising managers on the best course of action for effective resolution.
Administration:
- HR Procedures and Systems: Develop, monitor, and continuously improve HR procedures and systems to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Payroll and Benefits: Manage payroll and the employee benefits program, including health insurance, retirement plans, and time off policies.
- New Employee Orientation: Conduct effective new employee orientations to facilitate employee integration and ensure understanding of company policies, procedures, and expectations. Work with supervisors to set clear expectations and provide necessary support during the orientation period.
- Performance Evaluation and Compensation: Manage the annual performance evaluation and compensation process, ensuring fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
- Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
EXPERIENCE:
- Typically a minimum of five (5) years of directly relevant experience in personnel/human resources field as well as supervisory experience.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or business related field
- HR certification such as PHR, SPHR or SHRM required.
