Job Function
Reporting into the Multi-Site Senior Human Resources Manager, the Multi-Site Human Resources Manager will be based out of Cleveland, OH and will travel between Cleveland, Ashtabula and Orrville. The HR Manager will be responsible for providing leadership to the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), and establishing and implementing human resources processes which support the strategic mission of the overall business for the Color Solutions and Performance Coatings business units.
Responsibilities
Ensures a culture of openness and employee engagement.
Manages, coaches and develops local HR resources on business strategy, HR agenda and related deliverables.
Manages the HR strategy including the implementation of global HR programs, processes and practices across the assigned geographic area.
Provides insights to senior leadership on key HR indicators, risks, and opportunities.
Leads by example to ensure a safety-first culture.
Leads the workforce planning process and efforts. Provides guidance on organization effectiveness, change and design interventions, and initiatives within the respective geographic area of responsibility and aligned with global initiatives.
Manages employee relations in union and non-union environments.
Acts as a mediator between management and employees to resolve conflicts, address complaints, and improve workplace relations.
Investigates ethics and compliance concerns, documents and reports on findings, and implements resolutions.
Coaches and supports leaders with union grievances.
Collaborates with the total rewards (compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, payroll and talent management) centers of excellence (COE) teams by creating, updating and executing on HR goals, initiatives and programs while working within the defined guidelines.
Manages the direct and indirect labor talent acquisition. Works with (and acts as) Site HR representative on creative, alternative staffing paths (local agencies, school outreach programs, job fairs, etc.). Work with federal, state, and local educational institutions to secure training grants and develop educational partnerships that strengthen our business and help develop associates.
Partners with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure exempt SG&A positions are filled timely and with top talent.
Drives annual performance reviews, compensation and succession planning processes.
Ensures employees understand benefit offerings and timely enrollment in benefit plans. Oversees the leave of absence process.
Coordinates the talent review process with site leaders including identifying top talent, creating succession plans and individual career plans.
Partners with the talent management team to identify employee and leader training and development needs and executes learning and development initiatives at assigned geographic locations.
Provides management and site employees with coaching and consulting support in all areas of talent management, including selection, assessment, evaluation, development, workforce planning, engagement and retention of talent.
Conducts ongoing assessments of HR process effectiveness and identification of improvement opportunities and solutions. Assesses, prioritizes and represents geographic workforce needs. Collaborates with COEs to create plans and solutions, takes a lead role in implementing change.
Keeps current on all trends and issues that affect HR and alert Site contacts with the implications.
Tracks and analyzes HR metrics and trends to provide actionable insights. Prepares and presents reports on staffing, labor relations, turnover, and other HR matters.
Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal labor laws, including OSHA regulations and EEOC standards. Promotes a safe and inclusive work environment across all sites.
Oversees and manages relationships with union representatives, negotiates collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), handle grievances, and ensures compliance with union contracts.
Supports, guides and promotes Vibrantz in Action and Employee Involvement Committee activities.
Builds effective community involvement programs to attract and retain top talent. This includes working with local universities as well as supporting the Global HR brand to measure employee satisfaction.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
5+ years’ experience as a Human Resources Business Partner, with at least two years managing others.
Union Experience required.
HR experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
A passion and a high degree of aptitude for employee development, coaching/mentoring.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills.
Able to juggle competing demands, prioritize, work with a sense of urgency, meet deadlines, exceed expectations, and deliver on commitments in a fast-paced high energy environment.
Excellent customer services skills in dealing with internal and external customers at all levels.
Solid working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and a technical aptitude for learning new systems. Solid experience working in HRIS and Payroll systems required (preferably Workday and UKG).
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
