Pay Range: $25 - $30 Hourly
Please note this is a part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week.
Basic Assignment:
The Human Resources Assistant works under the direct supervision of the HR Coordinator to plan and execute departmental strategies. This position performs a variety of duties in support of various core human resources functions, including recruitment and onboarding, maintaining and processing information in our HRIS system. The Human Resources Assistant will be able to use their knowledge of best recruitment measures to ensure a qualified pool of candidates is attracted and established.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) preferred
Minimum 1 year of HR internship or work experience highly preferred
Knowledge and understanding of labor law highly preferred
Strong organizational skills to coordinate meetings, interviews, and other administrative processes
Ability to meet deadlines while managing frequent interruptions
Ability to work on assignments independently as necessary and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
Ability to respond and act to time-sensitive incidents in emergency-like situations
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and good judgment
Positive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to work independently and support others when needed
Excellent written and verbal communication skills when interacting with staff, applicants, and vendors
Highly computer literate with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and HRIS systems (ADP Workforce preferred)
Fluency in multiple languages is preferred
This is a hybrid role which requires travel to our headquarters and/or sites as needed
Major Functions:
Recruitment:
Supports the recruitment process by screening applicant resumes and scheduling interviews with regional supervisors and program coordinators
Assists with external communication with prospective staff and vendors
Assists with the recruitment process for staff, posting vacancies, and coordinating interviews with managers
Research and register for upcoming college career fairs within the organization’s staffing scope
Attend career fairs and maintain positive relations with colleges and external vendors as needed
Provide guidance to new employees and assist with training in regards to our ADP time management system (e.g., timecards, time off requests, etc.)
Assist with conducting 30/60/90-day check-ins with all new staff to ensure successful integration and engagement in their respective role
Serves as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and support on HR-related matters
Clerical Administration:
Attend board meetings and compile minutes for the CEO and maintain confidentiality regarding all topics of the meeting
Provide administrative support to the CEO (e.g., correspondence, new board members, etc.)
Stays current and up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices
Supports Finance and Operations with audits as needed
Performs a broad variety of administrative tasks for the HR & Operations team
Other duties as assigned
