SCI, an American based manufacturing company that specializes in providing high performance furniture to the restaurant and food service industry.

 

The Payroll and Human Resources Specialist is responsible for managing payroll processing while supporting a wide range of HR functions, including employee records, benefits administration, onboarding, compliance and employee relations. This role ensures employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with labor laws and company policies. This role supports company operations across dual office locations and may require periodic travel between sites.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



Core duties and responsibilities include the following:

 

Payroll Responsibilities

  • Process Rockdale weekly employee payroll accurately and on schedule (fulltime)
  • Review and verify timekeeping records, pay rates, and deductions
  • Calculate wages, overtime, bonus and commissions
  • Process payroll taxes, benefits deductions, and garnishments
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality
  • Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with payroll reporting, audits, and year-end processes (W-2s, 1099s,)
  • Timekeeping of the company’s PTO and vacation schedule and balances


 

Human Resources Responsibilities

  • Administer employee onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Assist New Hire orientation and trainings
  • Maintain employee personnel files and HR databases (HRIS)
  • Process benefits administration and employee enrollment
  • Assist with employee relations issues and workplace investigations
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to HR policies and benefits
  • Assist with compliance related to labor laws and company regulations
  • Support employee relations and performance management processes


Work Environment:

  • Remote setting

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical
  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Design software; Development software; Internet software; Manufacturing software; Order processing systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
