Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Safety Coordinator / HR Generalist role in Cherokee, IA. · Coordinate and administer workplace safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
· Conduct safety training, orientations, audits, and incident investigations; track corrective actions and follow-up.
· Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation, including incident logs and training records.
· Partner with leadership to promote a strong safety culture and proactive risk management.
· Support HR functions including employee onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, and policy compliance.
· Assist with recruitment efforts, new hire orientation, and employee training initiatives.
· Maintain personnel files and HR documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
· Support performance management, disciplinary processes, and employee engagement initiatives.
· Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and internal procedures.
· Collaborate with management to support continuous improvement across safety and human resources functions.
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Safety Management, or a related field preferred.
· 2–5 years of experience in safety coordination, HR generalist duties, or a similar role.
· Knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety programs, and employment law.
· Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
· Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
